Organizational Assessment & Diagnosis

Overview

Are there problems in your organization or work group? Are employees in camps, disliking each other or their circumstances? Are managers doing a good job managing people? Do employees know what is expected of them, and are their rewards based on their performance? Is the atmosphere heavy? Are employees productive?

If you don't like the answers to these questions, don't feel bad. You are not alone. There are numerous reasons behind lack of satisfaction and productivity in the workplace. In fact, the potential reasons are too numerous to list.

Diagnosing organization or work group problems is both a science and an art. It is a science in that it requires the collection and analysis of relevant data. It is an art in that only those who are skilled in approaching multiple levels in the hier-archy, who take the time and effort to get everyone's input, who show integrity and who build the trust necessary to acquire such information will succeed at getting to the bottom of organization or work group issues.

How it Works

This process begins when you see a need to make changes. We meet with you and discuss the circumstances. After gather-ing some basic information about the organization, we recommend a plan to determine the reasons for sub-optimal performance or dysfunction in the organization.

Data gathering is most often accomplished through interviews. In some cases, all individuals involved or affected are interviewed. In other cases, only a sample of individuals are scheduled for interviews. Sometimes, along with personal interviews, structured surveys or focus groups are used to gather information. After the information is gathered, we assimilate it and feed it back to the client and the group involved. Only trends relevant to the issues are provided, not individual comments.

Because of our personal, skilled and professional approach, we are highly effective in uncovering the issues and putting them on the table. We then deliver a proposal that outlines recommendations for resolving the underlying issues. Proposals typically include immediate as well as long-range recommendations.
