Family Harmony Workshops

Overview

An emerging understanding of family-owned businesses reveals the large scope of issues unique to these enterprises. Each issue brings a high degree of complexity due to the integration of two otherwise autonomous systems: business and family. The degree to which families-in-business can successfully resolve these issues while addressing both business and family needs is directly linked to their potential for success.

Valutis Consulting is sensitive to the stress and strain these issues have on family harmony. Our workshops can repair damaged relationships and build the skills needed for long-term harmony. We teach family members the skills they need to succeed.

Each workshop is interactive and dynamic, and will be customized to the needs of your family. The format utilizes discussions, activities, role plays and homework to learn the information and apply the skills. Topics may include:

communication and listening skills

father/son relations

father/daughter relations

husband/wife ventures

sibling rivalry

constructive criticism and feedback

fair fighting

How it Works

After meeting with the family and determining the topic/s and objective/s, we develop a three- to five-session workshop. Each session is typically two hours in length. Prework may be completed prior to each session, and homework is often assigned to encourage participants to practice the new skills.

The seminars are highly interactive. Our psychologists facilitate and monitor activities to ensure that discussions are candid, yet constructive. Through participation, family members often learn a great deal from each other.
