Overview
So often what we know rationally or intellectually can produce significant change and growth in our professional and personal lives. However, the forces of our emotional world, as well as the effects of our psychological history, can and do rob us of the full use of this understanding. Our personal lives and emotional history are important but often remain in a private, guarded, and unaware place in our memory. Their influence is still real and affects our choices and decisions. Counseling with a professional provides a safe environment in which to free ourselves of that which inhibits our full potential and allows us to better communicate and listen to those with whom we live and work.
How it Works
The assessment and diagnosis of the family business includes interviews, objective evaluations, and personal insights. Often these reflect the patterns of healthy and unhealthy interpersonal relationships. When patterns exhibit the need for an individual or group to face personal issues in a more honest manner, one to four sessions are scheduled with the counselor. During this time the level of insight, awareness, and willingness to face personal factors is determined. Further counseling will focus on personal growth and the application of this growth toward the needed traits of a healthy family business, such as:
